Payton Smith is a 2023 SS/RHP, C, 2B, 3B, MIF, IF, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Bishop Gorman. Medium, athletic build with wiry twitch and quickness. Ran a 7.52 in the 60-yard dash. Infielder, clean transfer and quality actions. Swift movements to either side from a clean arm path. Looks comfortable up the middle and gets around it well. Right-handed pitcher, works fast from an athletic high three-quarter slot. Fastball reached low-80s with subtle arm-side run and showed late, sharp break to the slider. Commands both pitches well with feel for a developing breaking ball. Right-handed hitter, even base and high hand set. Drives it out front with strength in the hands. Hard liners to all fields with quick hands to produce bat speed. Good feel for the barrel and two-way potential. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
