2020 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Matt Rigby is a 2022 1B/C, 3B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Fair Haven, NJ who attends Rumson Fair Haven. Recorded a 7.36 second sixty-yard dash time. Large frame with present lower half strength and room to physically mature. Primary catcher with a developing catch-and-throw skill set; higher receiving stance with fairly soft hands, segmented footwork to gain ground towards his target and accurate throws to the bags. Displayed developing arm strength up to 70 mph in catcher drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with tight hand set and inward moving stride to launch. Middle-of-the field approach with inside-out hand path and developing feel for the barrel. Minimal lower half usage that will improve with better direction in his stride, allowing for hips to fire and create leverage out in front. Fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills with strength in his hands when he gets extended. Will continue to improve with further refinement of mechanics and proper usage of physical strength.
