Braden Sweet is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Millard South. Recorded a 7.18 second sixty yard dash time. Large frame, lean and athletic build with good physical projection remaining. Primary left-handed pitcher with a short and compact arm action, the fastball shows late arm side life. Works quick and at an up tempo pace, pounds the outer half and plays into his fastball movement nicely. Smooth and polished delivery with a clean operation overall, repeats well and attacks the zone. Curveball shows 1-7 shape with sweeping action across the zone. The changeup may be his best pitch, as he tunnels it well and it shows late fade. Looks exactly the same as the fastball but is 8-10 mph slower. Solid three-pitch mix that he can command well and move all around the zone. Has the stuff to miss bats, projects well moving forward. Secondary outfielder with a controlled approach, fields it off the front foot and comes through it well. Made low and accurate throws at 83 mph. Left-handed hitter with a wide base and a slightly open stance, has a low hand set and utilizes a toe tap trigger. Aggressive swinger with a pull side approach, has definite bat speed and can elevate the ball. Showed impressive impact/power when hitting the ball out front, hit a homerun in BP. Good student.
