Mason Hutto is a 2022 MIF/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Summerville, SC who attends Summerville. Medium athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Primary middle infielder, has quick feet on defense and shows his athleticism well working through the ball, gets in good position fielding the ball and gets behind his throws, has some young arm strength and makes accurate throws, solid overall defender. Right handed hitter, starts his swing with an exaggerated leg lift load that can impact his timing and balance, has some hand quickness and is short to the ball on the inside half, will get longer on the outside half, ball gets some jump off the barrel and projects well as a hitter as he gets stronger. Also pitched, slow to fast delivery with a side step start, tends to fall off hard to the first base side on release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, also threw a slurve type breaking ball but depended heavily on his fastball. Very good student.
