2023 PG Underclass All-American Games
Angel Laya is a 2025 OF/2B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Eastlake. Taller and very athletic look with excellent projection remaining in the frame. A left-handed hitter, really easy and loose left handed swing with good direction and lots oh whip through contact. He showed easy lift to the gaps and solid ability to back spin the ball. The swing is geared for both hit and power and he is an extremely easy mover. The body with fill out and the power will come organically. There is a very high ceiling offensively as he develops.
