Adrian Puig is a 2008 RHP with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Gulliver Prep. He has a mature, strong build with limited physical projection. Puig throws from a simple, low effort delivery with a long arm action and high release point. Puig's fastball was 83-85 mph, topping out at 87 and was mostly straight. His best pitch was a 71 mph curveball that had good depth to it and that Puig commanded well. He also threw a 75 mph change up that looked like a split finger. Puig is an aggressive competitor who comes at hitters. We've seen him go up and down in velocity over the past few years but if he can settle in at the mid to upper 80's with a good CB/Chg combination, he should be a solid college level pitcher. Puig is also a good student.
