Xavien Thompson is a 2021 OF/LHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Waxahachie, TX who attends Waxahachie. Medium frame with a slender and athletic kid. Ran a 7.14 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Moves well fielding to the side and working through the baseball maintaining momentum. Clean can quick exchanges getting the ball out quickly. Smooth arm action into a three-quarter slot showing some arm strength topping out at 80 MPH. Lefthanded hitter with a square and even stance to start. Utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Rotational swing path mechanics. Line drive swing plane through the zone working to the pull side. Creates some leverage at times and can drive the ball well in the air. Secondary lefthanded pitcher with a side step delivery into leg lift to the belt. Lands in line down the mound. Looseness to take back working into an extended lower arm slot. Straight fastball through the zone topping out at 74 MPH. Mixes in a sweeping curveball able to land the pitch for strikes. Good student as well.
