Ashton Pope is a 2023 OF/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Dallas, NC who attends North Gaston. Recorded a 7.62-second 60-yard dash time. Long, slender frame with some present strength in his lower half. Primary outfielder, showed off some athleticism with some bounce in his step. Fields off his front foot, remaining online to his target. Comes over-the-top as he gets on top of his throws, accurate to the bases up to 83 mph. Right-handed pitcher, simple operation, creating some deception as he lands more towards the third-base side of the mound, firing across his body. Promising fastball-breaking ball combo, channeling well and maintaining his arm speed. Worked both sides of the plate, fastball got up to 83 mph with more in the tank with some mechanical refinement. Right-handed hitter, upright, balanced stance with a high back elbow. Toe-tap trigger with a compact stroke, generating good bat speed from his strong longer half. Tendency to get stuck on his backside, becoming rotational. Flashed some power to the pull side when he got the barrel out and got his arms extended. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
