Austin "AJ" Jones is a 2022 C/OF with a 5-10 181 lb. frame from Boise, ID who attends Bishop Kelly. He has a medium frame with a stocky build and present strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.24 seconds. Primary catcher that starts in an open stance and showed quick hands on the transfer and throw. He has a strong arm from behind the plate and did a job in staying through the ball, making consistent accurate throws. Secondary right-handed pitcher that has a belt high leg kick and stays tall on his back leg. He has a strong lower half and throws with a short arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot. He tunnels his fastball and slider well. He was effective in working his fastball to both sides of the plate and his slider is firm with late downward action. Right-handed hitter that starts in a narrow base and a squatty stance. He uses a leg lift trigger for timing. He does a nice job of shifting his weight through the swing and was able to impact the ball out in front of the plate. He has quick hands and plenty of strength in his swing. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
