Dante Vernieri is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Barnegat, NJ who attends Donovan Catholic. Large frame with physicality to the build. Ran a 7.13 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works primarily from the stretch and locates a two-pitch mix well; throws from a high three-quarters slot and creates some downhill plane on the fastball working to the bottom of the zone and generating weak contact when put in play. Also worked out in the outfield, gets to the ball well but slows momentum at receiving it with some arm strength on throws to bags. Right-handed hitter, sets up even with a low hand set and limited shift into contact; has strength in the swing but limited fluidity and will improve results greatly as he improves timing. Good student.
