Skylon Jackson is a 2023 OF/LHP, 1B with a 5-11 151 lb. frame from Lithonia, GA who attends Martin Luther King Jr.. Recorded a 6.81 second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with controlled actions working through the ball with one-handed gather out front. Present balance and agility to either side. Clean transfer leads to over-top release producing throws at 80-mph. Carry and accuracy present as throws are consistently around the bag. Also completed drills at first base and produced throws across the diamond at 79-mph. Worked off the base well with ability to stay down and through ground balls, fielding out front with clean one-handed funnel. Secondary left-handed pitcher who uses his lean build and present athleticism to drive down the mound, staying in line to the plate, aiding present control. Full arm circle in back remains unrestricted through release from a low 3/4 slot, with quickness to arm path and overall tempo. Fastball showcased heavy action with sink at 77-mph. Mixed in curveball at 66-mph as he went, maintaining arm-slot as pitch took 1-7 shape and displayed depth through the zone at 66-mph. Confidence in his repertoire present, leading to ability to fill the zone with strikes. Left-handed hitter who hits from an open stance and high hand setup. Bat speed and hand-eye coordination present leading to the ability to work down through the hitting zone producing hard hit, line-drive result to the gaps with carry. Good student.
