Yuta Shimo is a 2024 OF/2B with a 5-6 160 lb. frame from McLean, VA who attends McLean. Compact athletic build with some present strength. 6.87 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, speed is an asset and moves aggressively to the ball, fields the ball off to the side, full arm action with an open front side, still developing defensive fundamentals in the outfield. Also played some infield in the games and looked solid there, may have long term potential at second base. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, upper body rotational swing, has some quickness and strength and gets some pull side line drive jump off the barrel. Good athlete who should continue to improve. Excellent student. Named to the Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
