Ryan Thear is a 2024 OF/LHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Middletown, PA who attends Middletown Area. Young, athletic build with loads of strength remaining to be added throughout frame. 7.47-second runner during the sixty. Primary outfielder, deliberate actions, fielding off to the side with some flashes of arm strength. On line to the plate, up to 77 mph. Could clean up arm action a bit to become more fluid. Secondary left-handed pitcher, methodical operation, using his whole frame to drive down the mound. High 3/4 slot from a full arm swing. Worked fastball in all four quadrants of the zone, up to 75 mph as he sat in the mid-70s. Sweeping breaking ball that showcased 11-5 action, landing it for strikes consistently. Commanded the zone really well. Left-handed hitter, begins with a balanced, narrow stance. Downhill swing plane that flashed some line-drive impact to the middle-of-the-field. Foot was able to get down in time with his hover trigger. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
