Blake Efird is a 2021 RHP with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Monroe, NC who attends Porter Ridge. Long and tall young pitcher's build, very projectable physically. Very well controlled delivery with balance and good direction, repeats his mechanics well on all his pitches, has present pitchability and command. Low 80's fastball topped out at 84 mph, attacks the zone with his fastball to both sides of the plate. Slider is his best secondary pitch, short and thrown to spots and gets off barrels. Change up mimics fastball very well with good arm speed. Curveball still developing. More velocity there as he adds strength and the rest of the package is there with present skills. Good athlete who runs a 7.09 sixty and swings the bat well. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Queens University of Charlotte. Named to the Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
