Tyree Claxton is a 2023 1B/OF with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Carrollton, VA who attends Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Recorded a 7.78-second 60-yard dash time. Compact, durable build with tons of present strength throughout his frame. Primary first baseman, fields out in front with a quick transfer, moves around the bag well. Quick release with accurate throws of the bases, up to 74 mph. Some stiffness during fielding process, could improve flexibility and foot speed. Secondary outfielder, plays back on the ball, fielding off to the side. Accurate throws with some carry, up to 69 mph on throws to the bases. Left-handed hitter, narrow, slightly open stance. Lofted stroke with present quickness to his hands. Remains on time with a busy leg-lift trigger, swinging with a lot of intent. Stayed through the middle of the field with present power to the pull side. Good student. Named to Coastal Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
