2023 Sophomore National Showcase (2026 Grads)
Tanner Owens is a 2026 RHP/SS with a 5-10 173 lb. frame from Milton, FL who attends Pace. Compact athletic build. Works from a full wind up with a high leg raise and big hip turn and coil over the rubber, medium length arm stroke to a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball works in the mid-80's from the wind up, does a good job of spotting his fastball to the corners and especially glove side. Tends to lose velocity and command from the stretch without his big hip turn. Threw a soft sweeping curveball as his secondary pitch, flashed some depth but tended to slow his arm and body on the pitch. 7.08 runner in the sixty. Showed good athleticism in the middle infield defensively, has quick feet and can make plays on the run, throws from an lower arm slot well. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow start with a drift into contact, gets his hands extended early, one piece line drive swing. Excellent student.
