Cullen Riel is a 2023 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Decatur, GA who attends Druid Hills. Long and angular build with lots of physical projection remaining. 8.10 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, arm strength is his best defensive tool, two handed fielder at the ball with developing footwork. Right handed hitter, has a good lower half shift into contact, fires his hands well with good timing and a simple load that keeps him on time, gap to gap contact, projects as a hitter with additional strength, good base swing to develop. Graded out higher as a pitcher at this event. Multi-part full hands over head delivery that has lots of moving parts and deception for the hitter, repeats his timing points well and repeats, extended 3/4's arm slot, arm works well out front. Fastball topped out at 83 mph and throws strikes with it. Change up was a nice pitch with big sinking action. Got ahead in counts consistently with a short and tight slider, also let up for a bigger curveball. Mixed his pitches well and had feel. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
