Charles Taaffe is a 2027 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Vestavia Hills, AL who attends Vestavia Hills. Medium, athletic frame with present strength in the frame. Ran a 7.08 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop, lateral mobility stood out with clean footwork and the hands work well, showed ability to drop slot at times with good arm strength across the diamond. Recorded accurate throws up to 79 mph. Right-handed hitter, high hands and a high back elbow in the stance, stays simple throughout the process, good bat speed and found the barrel often. Downhill path and flashed ability to lift, good foundational swing to build onto in the future with present strength to both gaps. Also worked out in the outfield, under control on the charge, fields it with one hand on the side of the frame, compact arm action to a higher three-quarters release point, throws come out of the hand well with true flight and carry on throws, athleticism really shined. Good arm strength, recorded accurate throws up to 81 mph. Named to 2023 14u Deep South All-State Games Top Prospect List.
