Alex Thomason is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Nixa, MO who attends Nixa. Medium build with room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary pitcher, short arm action from a three-quarters slot. High leg lift with good balance and direction down the hill. Fastball up to 74 mph, lives in the lower half of the zone. Occasional cutting actions to his fastball, cut fastball velocity drops slightly to around 68-69 mph. Also mixes in a 12-to-6 curveball with good depth, developing command with his arsenal. From the outfield, is meticulous with his reads off the bat as well as with his glove work. Shorter arm action with a slight hitch after separation. Still learning his footwork into the gap, throws stay on line to all bags. At the plate, uses an upright and slightly open stance with a simple stride trigger. Hands wrk direct to the baseball, some pop to his pull side when on time. Great student in the classroom as well.
