James Pease is a 2024 RHP/1B, 3B, OF, UT with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Mechanicsville, MD who attends Chopticon HS. Large, physical build some present strength throughout his frame. 8.22-second runner in the sixty-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, simple delivery with a belt-high leg lift followed a drop and drive lower half. Works from a 3/4 arm slot with a sneaky fastball that showed late arm side run, getting it in on hitters. Add and subtracts from fastball creating some deception. Fastball was up to 78, working consistently 74-77. Continuing to develop feel for breaking ball, needs to maintain his arm speed to throw it for strikes. Secondary first baseman, fields out in front of body with accurate throws to the bases. Could improve foot speed and fluidity around the bag. Fairly strong arm with throws up to 79 from first and 82 from the outfield during drills. Right-handed hitter, high back elbow with a high-hand set set-up. Pumps his hands with a gliding lower half trigger to get started. Long stride with a lot of lower half rotation. Gets barrel out in front of plate. Worked pull side to up the middle during round.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
