Diesel Gonzales is a 2024 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Lufkin, TX who attends Hudson. Large physical build with room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary first baseman, stays in front of the ball well and stands up to throw. Arm strength across the diamond will continue to develop nicely alongside his build. Glove works well out in front. On the mound, has a shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Pounds the zone with strikes, fastball up to 74 mph. Some slight running actions to his fastball. Developing curveball with a ton of depth to the plate. Also mixed in a 65 mph changeup. In the infield, fields out in front well, makes the routine play consistently. Arm strength profiles well at second base. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with inverted knees. Simple stride trigger, looks to use the middle of the field, longer overall stroke with good pop to his pull side.
