Dylan Thompson is a 2023 MIF/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Moss Bluff, LA who attends Sam Houston. Medium slender build with present length and plenty of room to fill out as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, stays in front of the ball well and glove works well out in front. Developing softness with his glove work, meticulous with his gather and transfer. Solid arm across the diamond, was gunned at 85 mph to first base in the in and out workout. On the mound, has a longer arm action from a three-quarters to high three-quarters slot. Slightly coils closed as he lifts. Hands come down to separate, fastball up to 80 mph. Mixes in a high 11-to-5 shaped curveball with some good depth. At the plate, uses a conventional and upright stance with a simple stride trigger. Conventional overall look, bat wrap and hand coil as he comes back into his load, slightly elevated barrel plane through the zone. Good student in the classroom as well.
