2020 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Valentino Tartamella is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Brooklyn Technical. Recorded a 5.01 second 40-yd dash time. Slender build with plenty of room to fill out. Primary outfielder with a very deliberate, developing defensive skill set. Anticipatory actions while preparing to field. Uses crow-hop to work through release, showing developing arm strength and recording throws up to 77 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a pre-set pivot foot, side-step rocker into balance and loose three-quarters arm slot. Showed ability to command both sides of the plate with two pitches. Fastball sat high 60s-to-low 70s, topping out at 72 mph. Fills up the zone, sequencing his repertoire and keeping hitters off balance. Showed ability to drop in slower curveball with 11-to-5 shape at 62 mph. Right-handed hitter with a slightly staggered stance, toe tap trigger and active pre-swing hand movement. Incorporates a long weight shift to gain momentum into launch, dropping hands slightly in elongated swing path. Contact oriented swing that will improve with proper swing adjustments and added strength. Excellent Student.
