2023 New York Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Bennett Harrison is a 2026 RHP/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends York Preparatory. Long, lean frame with a high waist and plenty of time to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates belt high leg lift into balance with good rhythm and tempo down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 74 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with developing command of the strike zone, does navigate all four quadrants with his fastball and mixed in low-spin breaking ball with gradual depth to it. Will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments and additional velocity. Secondary infielder with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Moved well laterally from side-to-side, displayed proper angles to make plays to both sides and record accurate throws up to 76 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even base with a tight hand set, low back elbow and small forward stride into launch. Contact oriented stroke with developing bat-to-ball skills and slightly elongated swing path. Mostly pullside contact with occasional line drive, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Young, potential two-way prospect with components to project on the mound and defensively.
