2022 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Kade Thompson is a 2025 OF/RHP, 2B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Toomsboro, GA who attends Tattnall Square Academy. Tall lean frame. In the outfield, the approach is passive to the fielding point but secures cleanly with short compact arm stroke that produced moderate carry, arm action could use a bit of clean up. In the infield, he secures the ball cleanly, but the high effort uphill throws across don't really translate to game like atmosphere. At the plate, he sets up with straight stance. The hands are quick with suddenness. Gets the barrel out front early, sometimes a bit too early. Could benefit from some added muscle mass. On the mound, he works with hybrid delivery into a counter rotational lift. The arm stroke is short with release out of a high three-quarter slot. Fastball shows arm side run at times. Occasionally went up the ladder for whiffs. Changeup showed fading action to it, while maintaining arm speed. Slider features short hard break. Creates nice tilt when executed properly. 7.18 60-yard. Outstanding student.
