Hunter Layton is a 2026 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-6 120 lb. frame from Greenville, NC who attends Oakwood School. He ran a 7.54 second sixty. A primary middle infielder with a young athletic build. On the infield he receives the baseball out front with two hands bringing it in to the mid line as he gains ground toward the target. The arm strength is young and will get better as he matures. In the outfield he works aggressively to the baseball getting the throws out quicker with a short arm action and keeping the baseball down and on target. Left-handed hitter, starts balanced in the box and the hands set by the ear. The swing path is clean coming through the zone and just needs more time to add strength as he showed the ability to spray the baseball around the yard. Excellent student.
