2020 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Lewis Rodriguez is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Garnerville, NY who attends North Rockland. Recorded a 6.87 second 60 yard dash time, showcasing great speed. Long and lanky frame. Primary outfielder with some arm strength when out in front, compact arm action with high effort release. Works through it well, loose arm, athletic actions. Secondary right-handed pitcher, works from the stretch only with a simple delivery and belt high leg lift. Full arm action, stays in line, can get the fastball to both halves of the plate. Some effort at the foot strike, ball jumps out of the hand well, lots of swing and miss with the fastball. Shows a curveball with 11-5 depth and shape, quick and efficient inning. Right-handed hitter with a wide and even base and leg lift trigger. Pretty simple operation, hands work with little effort. Ball jumps off the bat, could create more lift. Gap to gap approach and line drive plane, big feel for the barrel. Solid all around player with multiple tools. Great student. Named to the 2020 National Underclass Showcase- Main Event Top Prospect List.
