Gardner Young is a 2025 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Madison, MS who attends Jackson Preparatory. Ran a 7.27 second sixty. Primary left-handed pitcher with a long projectable build that shows a lot of promise moving forward. On the mound the works down the hill with good rhythm and using his length well to get out front creating extension on each of his pitches. The delivery shows some cross fire action from a high three-quarters arm slot hiding the ball well through the back. The fastball got up to 82 mph with some carrying life through the zone. The breaking ball gets through the zone with sharp top to bottom break showing maintained arm speed. In the outfield he works under control to the baseball with ling strides fielding the ball out front and working into a strong through with an on time release showing solid arm strength. Left-handed hitter, starts open getting back to even on time with a leg lift trigger, Showed some juice to the pull side with a bat path that gets on plane early and works with some loft through the hitting zone getting back spin on the ball flight. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine Gulf Coast Top Prospect List.
