2023 14U National Showcase
KJ Anderson is a 2027 C/IF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Cookeville, TN who attends Cookeville High School. A taller frame and medium build with some strength in the lower half. Primary catcher with a lower setup behind the dish as he works out of the crouch. He pops up and has a longer exchange & release before getting rid of the ball with some quickness. Threw 73 mph down to second and produced a 2.03 pop time. Showed some athleticism as well as he came out of the crouch to let go of the ball. He was a workhorse behind the dish as well in-game. He's a left-handed hitter with a narrow star. He has a clean stride to work into it, separating well through the swing. He was able to turn it over hard and showed off real good bat speed. Worked on the barrel aplenty during his round of BP swings. He turned on it hard and was able to produce good impacts. Found a couple of barrels in-game as well. Produced an 89 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Excellent student.
