Ethan Byrd is a 2025 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Green Brook, NJ who attends Watchung Hills. Well-proportioned, larger frame with strength throughout and plenty of time to physically mature. Recorded a 5.42 second forty-yard dash time. Primary left-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a coiled leg lift into balance and sound lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 78 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot in this look. Strike thrower with developing command of the strike zone, works backwards and has the ability to land his breaking ball for strikes. Uptempo pace with attack mentality, curveball has subtle two-plane tilt and gradual depth to it. Will continue to improve with additional velocity and minor refinements mechanically. Secondary first baseman with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set. Showed agility around the bag, a clean funnel out in-front and smooth turns to throw. Produced accurate throws up to 82 mph across the diamond during drills and flashed the ability to change arm angles when necessary. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high, slightly wrapped hand start and hover trigger. Efficient stroke with developing feel for the barrel and some strength in his hands. Used the middle and pull sides of the field effectively and will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Fundamentally sound skill set on both sides of the baseball with plenty of upside remaining. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
