Tommy Diffley is a 2024 1B/LHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Freehold, NJ who attends Colts Neck. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Primary first base, fields the ball out front, extra step moving into release, shorter arm action, gets it out of glove well, shows accuracy on throws across the diamond, shorter steps on the charge. Also pitched, similar short arm action through the back, works to a lower three-quarters release point, works across body a bit and creates natural cut action on fastball topping out at 73 mph. Creates deception with release, short curveball up to 63 mph and flashes sweep at times when on time with release; worked to arm side with splitter, shows short sink at 64 mph. Worked around the zone. Left-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow through the back, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Contact oriented approached, works on a linear path through the zone, showed comfort in game working the middle and pull side parts of the field. Line drive contact when squared, shows a handle for the barrel, occasionally gets to front side early. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
