Owen Peffers is a 2024 C/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Cienega. Medium, square shouldered frame and a higher waist, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives the ball out front with two hands, young footwork coming out of crouch and will continue to develop, longer transfer on throws, shows accuracy down to second base. Fields the ball out front in the infield, works behind the ball well going up the middle, will refine overall actions. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up past belt, longer arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point, tall finish at release. Pitched to contact, fastball topped out at 64 mph and showed a curveball with 11-5 shape when on top, showed athleticism off the mound. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread and tall stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Short load back with hands, upper body dominant swing and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into weight shift. Contact oriented approached, stays short to the ball and through point of contact, bat speed will continue to develop with physical strength. Good student.
