Deven Gonzalez is a 2022 C/3B with a 5-8 180 lb. frame from Highland Village, TX who attends Marcus HS. Deven is a rising HS junior who has a sound fundamental ability that allows for an improving skill level. He is also a strong student in the classroom. Deven is a noticeably hard worker. He plays with outstanding energy and gives consistent great effort. He ran an 8.36 60 yard dash. A primary catcher, Deven shows sound and highly repeatable actions with the gear on. He shows a low profile at the ready and his soft and sure hands allow him to receive the ball well. He gains ground well and his 67 mph velocity allows his throws to show plus average carry to the bag. His pop time is routinely 2.40. At the plate, Deven uses the strength in his upper body to contact the baseball. He is more of a rotational hitter who gets his barrel to the front of the plate well. His bat path is geared more towards the middle of the field. His operation works well for him.
