Cylis Proffitt is a 2027 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 5-4 105 lb. frame from Winchester, CA who attends Rancho Christian. Young, square shouldered frame, lean build with room to grow and develop moving forward. Ran an 8.26 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, remains low to the ball on approach, fields it out front and shows some feel for the glove, works through the backhand, shorter arm action on throws, arm strength and carry will continue to develop with added strength, maintained balance on the charge. Also pitched, incorporates lower half well in to drive and creates some extension out front, shorter arm action with a high three-quarters release point. Worked around the zone, fastball topped out at 70 mph, competes on the mound and shows 11-5 shape to curveball, sharp life to it when on top and can land it for strikes. Switch-hitter, showed more barreled contact from the left side, starts with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a leg lift trigger, contact oriented approach, developing bat speed. Similar high hand set and back elbow from the right side, shorter stride moving into contact and gets closed with front foot; some looseness in wrists, gets the barrel out front. Excellent student.
