Tyler Mendez is a 2022 SS/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Sewaren, NJ who attends Colonia. Recorded a 7.37 second sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop shows good athleticism and a strong lower half as he works the ball with great footwork and clean glove actions. Mendez fields the ball out front with a quick transfer while smoothly and accurately throwing the ball across the diamond at 83 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher moves from a full windup with a front step into a chest high swinging leg lift as he drops the back leg and drives to the plate. He has good extension and explosion on release with late arm side run action as he keeps it up in the zone topping 84 mph. Mendez also mixes in a change of pace breaking ball with a developing release point. Right-handed hitter steps to the plate with an open stance, high hands, and a high back elbow as he shows a quick twitch on the ball while pulling the hands in well alongside a simple leg lift trigger to work the ball pull side. Mendez maintains great barrel control and creates impact off the barrel. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
