Jacob Chapman is a 2023 3B/RHP, C, 1B, 2B, SS, MIF, IF, OF with a 5-9 157 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Chaparral High School. Compact lean build with room to fill out. Ran a 8.21 second sixty-yard dash. Worked out as a primary infielder. Flashed wide deliberate actions working to and through the baseball in the infield working straight to the ball. Showed developing range to both sides of the infield with a clean backhand. Confident glove actions using out front funnels with clean exchanges into throws with developing arm strength and accurate carry across the field topping out at 64 MPH across the infield. Also worked out from the outfield. Flashed patient actions working to the baseball with developing footwork when working through the baseball. Confident glove actions with out front funnels and good exchanges into throws with good accuracy topping out at 67 MPH from the outfield. Right handed hitter. Employs an upright stance with a hanging front foot load and good weight transfer. Rotational pull side approach creating consistently driven line drives to the pull side. Also pitched. Stretch only using a belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online with the plate through finish. Flashed a shorter, compact arm action throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot with good arm speed. Flashed a fastball thrown to the inside of the plate to right handed hitters with good arm side run up to 67 MPH complemented by a 11/5 curveball with good depth and a fading change up at 62 MPH.
