Garrett Thompson is a 2022 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Katy. Long, lanky frame with young look and plenty of room to fill out. Primary shortstop with a developing defensive skill set, using deliberate footwork and longer actions into and during the fielding process. Shows developing arm strength with accurate throws across the diamond recorded up to 73 MPH. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a slow, controlled operation with a simple side step rocker into an extended leg lift. Fills up the zone with fastball in the upper-60s, topping out at 72 miles per hour from a three-quarters arm slot. Mixed in slower breaking ball that varies in shape that can improve when thrown with more conviction and feel for spin. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide base while using a simple leg lift trigger for timing. Middle-of-the field approach with loose hand path, line drive swing plane and developing barrel control. Will continue to improve with added strength and maturity. Excellent Student.
