Cole Kelly is a 2023 LHP/OF with a 5-7 125 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Episcopal. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable frame, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, begins delivery with leg lift just above belt, strides on line towards the plate, works to a three-quarters slot at release. Works exclusively out of the stretch and will vary tempo in mechanics; fastball topped out at 64 mph, worked around the zone with the pitch and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into drive down the mound. Curveball shows sweeping finish with 2-8 shape, flashed a changeup at 58 mph and landed for strikes with maintained arm speed. Lower slot on throws from the outfield, fields the ball out front with an extra step through release, looks to work through the ball, occasionally gets under it at release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and upright stance with a high hand set and lower back elbow at the plate. Inside swing path with hands and stays short to the ball, best when working on a linear plane. Opens front side early, looks to pull at the point of contact, bat speed will continue to develop with increased strength. Very good student.
