2023 California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Jack Zerkel is a 2024 OF/UT with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Tustin, CA who attends Foothill. He has a compact and athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 6.95 seconds. Primary outfielder that utilizes smooth, quick footwork. He has a good feel for the glove, fielding the ball out in front of his body with big gather that leads into a strong accurate downhill throws with advanced carry. At the plate, he sets up with medium base working into a calm relaxed load. He has a short and compact bat patch with present bat speed. He had his best results when working to the middle of the field. He does a nice job of staying on balance and on rhythm during his swing. There's projectable gap power with a swing that truly maximizes the frame.
