2021 PG Underclass All-American Games
Tristan Russell is a 2023 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Woods. Medium height with a proportioned frame and broad shoulders. A primary infielder, quick feet with good lateral quickness, funnels quickly and gets rid of it with lots of zip on the ball. Also worked out in the outfield, springy footwork showing good energy. Athletic and aggressive, has feel for rounding the ball and the arm plays at any spot. A secondary pitcher, stays compact and uses a small hip turn to hold coil. Solid arm speed and the ball jumps. Landed a solid 12/6 breaking ball that showed depth. Athletic delivery. A switch hitter, LH-starts narrow and slightly open, compact and direct path with some twitch. RH-starts even and in line with quick hands and a strong turn. Good bat to ball skills and smoke liners all over the field. Excellent student.
