Luca Candella is a 2026 RHP/2B, OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Ponte Vedra, FL who attends Ponte Vedra HS. Recorded a 7.49 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with longer limbs and some strength present. Primary right-handed pitcher with a leg lift up above the belt and a big rocker step towards first base. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with lots of arm side run. Works mostly on a horizontal plane and induces weak contact. Breaking ball showed slurvy action with 10/4 shape and the ability to manipulate between curveball and slider. Held velocity well and projects nicely. Solid pitchability and threw strikes. Arm strength plays from secondary positions of the outfield and infield. Right-handed hitter with a narrow, relaxed start and a crouched stance. Even base and has an upper half dominant swing. Shows some line drive contact to pull side but power will improve with additional strength and lift. Great student. Named to the 2022 NUC East TP List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
