Ben Ivey is a 2027 LHP/OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Columbus, GA who attends Brookstone. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow moving forward. Ran a 7.63 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, begins with a short stride step moving into a belt high leg lift, repeats mechanics very well pitch to pitch. Clean arm action through the backside working to a three-quarters release. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, shows running life to it through the zone and commands it well. Mixed a curveball with 1-7 shape for strikes up to 62 mph, landed for strikes within the zone and shows comfort with the pitch. Shorter steps to the ball in the outfield, compact arm action and shows strength on throws, occasionally gets uphill with release, can implement additional lower half into actions. Easy mover around the first base bag, comfort in repeating and plays under control, nice arm strength and carry on throws across. Left-handed hitter, begins with a square stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Short stroke with present bat speed through the zone, on the barrel regularly and worked to the middle of the field as well as sthe gaps. Repeats swing and shows some life off of the barrel. Excellent student. Named to the 14u Georgia All-State Games Top Prospect List.
