2019 National Indoor Showcase
Tyler Statler is a 2019 RHP with a 6-6 230 lb. frame from Roscoe, IL who attends Hononegah. Extra big and strong build, physical presence on the mound. High 3/4's arm slot, creates angle to the plate, consistently lost direction to the first base side during his delivery, works arm side almost exclusively, energy at release, gets very strong hip rotation to drive his arm that tends to be early. Outstanding raw arm strength, was 93-95 mph early, mostly straight. Tends to slow his body and arm significantly on his slider, will need to learn to maintain his arm speed on the pitch. Showed some feel for a change up. Big challenge will be controlling his hip rotation and staying on line so he can let his power fastball live in the strike zone. Can't mistake the arm strength or the potential. Good student, signed with Southeast Missouri State. Named to the National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect Team.
