2022 13U/14U Summer Gulf Coast Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Peyton Rackard is a 2027 SS/RHP, C, 2B, IF, OF, UT with a 5-4 138 lb. frame from Tuscaloosa, AL who attends Hillcrest. Ran a 8.89 second sixty. Primary short stop with a younger build and frame. Showed developing foot speed to the ball on the infield with an ability to get to the spot on the back hadn't and work through the baseball. Throws have average carry with developing arm strength as he does a nice job getting the baseball out on time. Sits deep in the stance behind the plate. Receives the ball fine with softer hands before gaining ground and making a clean transfer. Will get more power in the throws with added strength and more incorporation of the lower half in the throws. Starts with a side step into a belt high leg lift. Is consistent with a short arm action hiding the ball well in the back stroke. Stays on line well through the delivery with a fastball that sat 65-70 mph. Showed curveball in the mid 50's with young traits but was able to get it over for strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrower base using a simple leg lift trigger. Shift the weight into contact with developing bat speed as he impacted the baseball best to the pull side in this round. Excellent student.
