Alwin Orengo is a 2024 SS/2B/3B with a 5-3 144 lb. frame from Yauco, PR who attends Loaiza Cordero de Rosario. Showed above average speed with a 6.97 second sixty. Primary short stop with a smaller young frame. Works well to the baseball with active footwork carrying the momentum into the throws while gaining ground toward the bag. Takes time with the release showing a longer gather with the shorter arm action getting the ball across the diamond with some carry. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open base using a big leg lift trigger to get back to even. The barrel gets through the zone with bat speed lifting the ball in the air with some loft to the path creating power off the back side driving through the baseball. Good student.
