Alex Nguyen is a 2020 C/1B with a 5-7 165 lb. frame from Hayward, CA who attends James Logan. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary catcher with a low, even stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouch. Compact glove circle while working through exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws generated some on line carry to the bag topping at 67 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.13. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Loose hand path to baseball while a line drive barrel plane through extension. Consistently repeated path and plane while employing a mid field to pull side approach. Excellent student as well.
