Leamsi Montanez is a 2024 C/1B, 3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Arroyo, PR, who attends Pro Baseball High School Academy. A bigger build with some strength to it. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with open feet to start. He gains ground well with good whip-to-the-arm action through release. He had a clean arm stroke through it with a smooth operation overall. Throws got to second in the air on target. Quick catch-n-throw overall with a clean release at 75 mph. Produced a 2.00 pop time. A switch hitter. As a right-handed hitter with high hands and a high back elbow. He uses a small stride forward and was strong with the barrel. As a left-handed hitter, he gets the weight out in front nicely and was able to produce some jump off the barrel. It was a pretty consistent round of line drives. The path produces line drives. A right-handed pitcher who used a leg lift before striding downhill. The fastball worked up to 82 mph with some arm strength behind it from a higher three-quarters arm slot. He had some downhill from the higher angle. Great student.
