Cal Champeau is a 2023 SS/RHP/2B/3B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Rumson, NJ who attends Rumson Fair Haven. With athleticism present in the build, Champeau displayed smooth controlled mechanics from the IF with accurate throws across the diamond up to 77 mph. He got behind the ball well and flashed the ability to change slots up the middle. He was able to touch 80 mph on the bump, working from a compact delivery and 3/4 slot to dictate the tempo of AB's. Champeau sequenced a funky slider with plenty of horizontal bite, working both sides of the plate with the ability to backdoor hitters. Offensively, the righty started from a narrow stance showcasing a compact line drive approach to all parts of the field. Hand speed was present through the zone. Posted an 81 mph exit velo. Ran a 5.41 forty yard dash. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
