Matthew Caldera is a 2022 OF/3B with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Vista Murrieta. Medium to large build with room to still fill out and strengthen as he continues to develop, posted a 6.80 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder, moves well into the gap as well as down the line. Meticulous with his reads off the bat. Clean crow hop, fluid actions to and through the baseball. Athletic foundation suggests his actions in the outfield will continue to progress significantly. Short arm action gets rid of the ball quickly. At the plate, uses a conventional upright stance with a large leg kick trigger. Slight hand coil creates some whip through the zone. Good pop to all fields when on time, great student in the classroom as well.
