Jj Mercuri is a 2020 C/ with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Lowell, MA who attends Central Catholic. Medium frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.36 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with wide base, high hand set, hands load back nicely, middle-field approach, drifts a bit onto front side at times, line drive swing plane, compact hand path with good hand quickness, creates some backspin, went to all fields. Worked out behind the plate, shows quickness to footwork, gets out of crouch well but doesn't gain much ground, very quick transfer with clean release, clocked up to 74 mph on throws. Very good student.
